It begins with something almost gone.
A remainder.
A surface.
A sound that lingers a little too long.
We think it has passed.
That time has already done its work.
That it no longer applies.
But that is not true.
For five years, Best Before Collective has moved close to what does not quite want to disappear. What remains in the materials, in the body, in the images. What continues, even when we say it is over.
We return in order to stay with what has not yet ended.
There is no clear before here.
No clear after.
Only movements.
Things changing places with one another.
A work that was finished opens itself again.
An image that had fallen silent begins to speak.
Something is ongoing, slowly. Something that refuses to be complete.
It has not quite come to an end.
Even though the best-before date has passed.
