Sofia Andersson works with painting and drawing, often through repetitions of a motif. The works take their starting points from a deeply personal level, in combination with art historical references, and relate to themes such as melancholy and transience. In her work, Andersson primarily uses techniques and materials such as oil, charcoal and pastel on canvas, paper and experimental materials, with a strong focus on the presence of the material in relation to motif, format and scale. Andersson received her bachelor's and master's degrees in fine arts in Stockholm in 2024 and 2026. Lives and works in Stockholm.
