Pictures that describe something inherent to photography, an act of holding onto a person or place with an image, while possibly acknowledging its impossibility. We hold onto a place by returning to it. We hold onto a person in our memories of them—even if a photo is in itself a memory device—and through other people.”

Bio

David Schoerner is a New York-based artist who works primarily with photography. In 2007, he founded the publishing project Hassla Books.
